I do agree with Runescape gold you. I had so much fun playing the game in the
beginning I didn't read a single guide and played completely. Which is
totally possible to try and enjoy lots of fun in the low levels and
early quests.
The game then forces you to grind really stupid skills sitting in one
spot for HOURS. The community accepts it and even glorifies it. Some
people just really like the "AFK" aspect of watching television as they
play the game playing with their eyes shut. Personally, I'm not keen on
playing this way.
As you do, it totally interferes with my enjoyment of the game and the
fact that I'm playing the role of a "role-playing game". At its core, I
believed that RS was supposed to be an MMORPG. It's actually not.
Let me tell you that, despite the fact that I hated it and it damaged
my experience, I cut that out. I accepted the fact that you need to AFK
skills to get all the requirements to unlock every quest. I did it
because I LOVE the quests of this game, however, it was a huge amount
of time. STUPID. I'm amazed that people are able to level up their
skills to 99. I'm in the 70s base and I'm only 99s max in all combat
skills and farming. Farming is the only fun ability in the game. The
other skills are absolutely awful.
However, the quests are incredible. However, one of the most important
games' quests, Song of the Elves is essentially a base 70s. It's a huge
grind and commitment. I'd try to maybe at the very least, try to
acquire the ability to complete Sins of the Father. One of my favorite
quests from the game and the requirements aren't quite as demanding. 50
slayer, 56 craftings 60 fletchings, 62 woodcutting are the top
requirements for this quest.
I can hear you on the Slayer. I CAN'T STAND SLAYER. I don't know why
PEOPLE enjoy it. It's just so boring. I am a level 70 slayer with
maximum combat skills. I got 99 attacks as well as strength, defense
and hitpoints in killing ammonite crawlers 100% AFK when I was working
at my job.
I'll say this, it was worth it. I am a huge fan of the bossing aspect
of this game. If you've not yet played the caves for fights to gain a
fire cape, you need to try it at the very least before deciding whether
you want to quit the game. It's a lot of fun mid-level bossing like the
gauntlet, but it requires an elven song completed so base 70s. The most
amazing bossing experience can be found in raids (chamber of xeric) and
inferno but these are such late games that you'll need to have top
combat stats. You can go about doing away with the majority of
"skilling" skills by doing bossing in order to earn cash as well as
other things you require.
Anyways. I'm sorry it's difficult to play OSRS at any level of
enjoyment because of how difficult it was to master the skills. The way
I see it, at the time that OSRS was designed its creators didn't
anticipate players to actually achieve top scores or get a 99 in a
skill. And the game has never been updated or improved since.
I'm seriously thinking that OSRS should have their own "easy" or
"beginner" mode that is on an isolated server that is separate from the
main game. In this mode, skilling happens at 100x the current rate, and
is actually fun to play and immerse yourself in. According to the
source, there's an interim game mode called "leagues" which comes with
a slightly increased XP rate, but it's still way too low for me and
isn't even available right now, I think it's only there for a couple of
months and then is gone until buy OSRS gp it's next "season".
