Madden 23 is nearing completion and only a handful of Franchise Mode features have been more requested than the one called Create A Team. We've had the opportunity to test Franchise on our own with Madden 23's Madden 23 beta, and we've realized how much of it worked and didn't.

Every year there are fans who are hopeful that long-anticipated Franchise Mode features will finally make it into this Year's Madden release. Madden 23 will mark a whole decade since the first time we saw Create A Team removed from Franchise Mode, since the feature was still in Madden 12 but was dropped from Madden 13.

Although the feature could have used more depth and expansion, EA Sports apparently decided that the most effective option was to remove the feature completely. It's a bit of a surprise as virtually every other major sports game franchise, including the EA Sports NHL series, features Create A Team In some form.

They did introduce a new Relocation mechanic a few years after the fact, but Create A Team is not making a triumphant return in Madden 23. One major thing to mention so far is an upgrade to the contract system and we've got further details about that Franchise Mode feature below.

Relocation teams and details are basically the same since Madden 15

As I tried out the Relocation system in Madden 23 to find out if the system was different, it became apparent what was the only difference. The direct comparison between the available teams and locations available in Madden 23 and what was accessible in Madden 23 can only show small differences.

All of the locations and teams are identical However, they've made small changes to increase market size of Oklahoma City, San Diego, Toronto, Sacramento, and Portland Three of them now have incorrect descriptions with the size of their previous market.

Relocation was introduced for Madden 15 The Madden 15 release introduced relocation, and EA Sports even sought out support from fans to create the actual logos and team names.Nearly all of the options offered today are in the original Madden 15 release and the only adjustments they've made were prompted by outside factors.

The original relocation options included the Conquistadors as an alternative within Mexico City and Marshalls as an alternative to San Antonio, both of which EA appear to have realized were incompatible and decided to drop without offering any replacement. When the Chargers moved towards Los Angeles and out of San Diego, they added San Diego as an option together with the new Crusaders, Red Dragons, and Aftershocks team designs.

Small adjustments to the size of the market or personality of the location could have been made year to each year, but the feature has not seen any changes in actuality. The bottom line is that Madden 23 coins is operating an 8-year old relocation feature in Franchise Mode that is unsuitable for replacing an 11-year-old Create A Team feature.
