World of Warcraft: Classic servers were introduced in 2019. following years of the WoW community's demands to relive the game's past. One major change expected to the release in WoW: Classic is how players currently playing on The Burning Crusade servers will move into Wrath of the Lich King. Unlike The Burning Crusade's launch which allowed players to either remain in the vanilla WoW or to switch to The Burning Crusade, all players are now required to switch into Wrath of the Lich King. When they make the transition to Wrath of the Lich King the players can anticipate all of its zones, achievement and raids, and of course the Death Knight class.

An announcement about World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Classic) came just after the unveiling of WoW's latest expansion called Dragonflight.
