Inspecting the Vehicle
One of the most important steps when buying a used car is doing a thorough inspection. Look over the entire vehicle inside and out for any dents, scratches, or corrosion. Pay close attention to the following areas:
- Tires: Check the tread wear and look for uneven wear patterns that could indicate suspension or alignment issues. Also check the age, as tires over 6 years old should be replaced.
- Engine: Used Car for leaks, check fluid levels, and ensure parts like belts and hoses are in good condition without cracks. Also listen for any strange noises when the engine is running.
- Brakes: Inspect brake pads/shoes for adequate thickness and rotors/drums for cracks or warpage. Check brake fluid level and color for contamination.
