The next patch for Diablo II: Resurrected will be released tomorrow in the Public Test Realm, and this patch will bring the ladder system and some tweaks to how the dreaded Uber Diablo works.

In January of this year, Diablo 2 Resurrected patch 2.4 was released and first hit the PTR on January 25, but now Blizzard has removed it again on February 9. And in Diablo 2's latest blog, the developer said it will bring back a pre-release patch with some new changes to the test server, including a first test of the ladder function.

According to Blizzard's last feedback, it is now focused on "on the areas where the feedback was overwhelmingly unified, as well as some D2 Resurrected Items For Sale areas where we may not have pushed hard enough for a meaningful change". Most notably, There will be a ranked competitive ladder system and a series of modes that support it. Since each mode will have a leaderboard, in order to get a good ranking, players need to compete in a limited time to gain experience strategically.

Also, some tweaks have been made to the generation of Uber Diablo. Players can still generate it by selling Stone of Jordan rings, but instead of spawning on the same server, they now spawn in the same area. Uber Diablo progress is tracked by game type and includes several new ladder modes: Classic, Classic Hardcore (HC), Classic Ladder, Classic HC Ladder, Expansion, Expansion HC, Expansion Ladder, and Expansion HC Ladder.
