What is whistleblowing?
Whistleblowing refers to the act of exposing any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization. This exposure is often done by current or former members of the organization - referred as whistleblowers - who report misconduct through appropriate internal or external channels. Whistleblowing aims to raise issues involving unethical behavior, non-compliance of legal obligations, or dangers to public interest in a responsible manner.

Types of whistleblowing

Internal whistleblowing: Reporting misconduct to someone higher up in the chain of command within the organization such as a manager, executive, legal/compliance department, or board of directors.
