Dragon Defender is good (once you finally have it). Also , for a good set of gloves, I suggest doing RFD for Dragon/Barrows glove. In fact, Mithril gloves are great. To obtain them, you have to RuneScape gold make a recipe for Disaster, and I definitely recommend you do that to the maximum extent you can...
I am constantly asking the similar question. I think slayer isn't any where near as effective as it used to be (just looked what happened to whips). The abby demons were camping to get 75-125+ killings only for the possibility of a 900k-1.5mil drop? Then for a drop of 3 mil is a different story.
I sell products with the highest buy limit (10k-25k). I tend to flip. I am focused on food, runes, and pots. I also track a few objects that I am aware of crash every so often and make some money too. I am constantly switching expensive armor and weapons I use in order to keep my money and increase my earnings sometimes. I sold my bgs prior to it crashed at 8 miles I also sold my Fury before it crashed, then bought one for 13 mil . Then auctioned it off for 14.5 mil. We bought claws and lent them out at 1 mil each and sold. Because armour and weapons generally go through a downward spiral, it's good to take actions like this.
I cant flip barrows or any weapon or armour piece for it for that matter. Tips? I'll buy almost every item someone is trying to sell quickly and then make a profit off it. In my case, the fury example. I also made 150k off the sale of a whip on the market for 1 mil recently. stuff like that.
My flipping time depends on the item's trend. If it's going up then i'll max buy at the current min price (how I determine the max and min prices will be discussed below) and then sell them at the maximum price after the transaction is finished. Sometimes, i purchase/sell at 1gp more than the min/max based on my profit margin as well as how fast i can figure out when to buy RS gold buy or sell.
